Is there anything else I can cook on the machines?

Yes, if you buy the spit roast machine, the standard pole with the pig attachments can also be used for lambs and large turkeys which are great at Christmas. We also do a chicken spit attachment which can cook thirty five chickens in two hours, this will feed two hundred people, and you can also use this attachment for different joints of meat or jacket potatoes or anything you can get on there. We also do a BBQ conversion kit which is available for all of our machines which simply slot onto the machines which mean u can use your machine as a BBQ, unlike conventional BBQs where if it is a windy day you struggle to cook anything, with our Conversion BBQ plates all of the heat from our two large burners has nowhere to go but up and is great for cooking loads of food very quickly. If you buy a hog roast machine or a combi machine where you get the hog roast tray, it is in essence a huge oven tray, meaning you can use your machine as an oven to cook whatever you want. How many people you can feed off one machine also depends on what you are cooking. Our professional machines are capable of cooking a pig up to forty kilos in weight; this is ample to feed eighty to a hundred into a roll or fifty people onto plates.

Our larger commercial machines are capable of cooking a pig up to eighty kilos in weight; this will feed up to three hundred people in a roll, and around a hundred people onto a plate. We also have a chicken spit attachment, which can be used for lots of different things, but if it is used for pork leg joints can cook enough meat to feed up to six hundred people into rolls or three hundred people onto plates. How long it takes to cook a pig depends on the size of the animal. As a rough guide it takes roughly one hour for every ten kilos of pig, so a fifty five kilo pig will take between five and six hours, obviously there are extremes, if your cooking a pig in the snow in January for example, it will take longer, but then on the other extreme, if your cooking a pig on a red hot day in July and there is no wind you may well cook a fifty five kilo pig in four hours. Our hog roast machines can cook pretty much anything, a whole lamb is cooked in two and a half hours, a big stag turkey is cooked in three and a half hours, and with our chicken spit attachment you can cook thirty five chickens in two hours, that’s enough chicken to feed two hundred people. One of our biggest customers for catering are weddings for precisely this reason, the pig can be cooked outside in full view of all the guests while they are mingling and chatting and then can be wheeled into position inside effortlessly for the main meal.
