Spectacular way to cook

A good morning to all of you who’re up, I’m back again with another Spitting Pig news update, and I’ve got more than a few updates for you.

The first bit of good news, significant news too, is that we’re making some more hog roast machines to add to our growing arsenal of machines, because machine bookings are up 82% over the last 4 months. A little known fact about Spitting Pig is that we design and manufacture our own machines. You might have thought that, like other companies, we’d simply buy machines from dedicated manufacturers. Unfortunately we’ve found that the quality of machines on the market just don’t cut it, and fail to the do the job we need of them. It made sense try our hand at making our own machines, and our investment has more than paid off. As it stands today we’re hiring out machines to tens of people each month and the numbers just keep on rising, as we get the word out about the amazing service.

In August lots of people booked a machine from Spitting Pig for their events, with the bookings coming from all corners of Great Britain. This is fantastic news for us, not least of which because we’re receiving books from far and wide. It used to be that we’d only have bookings for machine hire and catering in the big towns, but now we’re getting requests in small towns and villages that are practically in the middle of nowhere! The word about our delicious hog roasts is really getting out there and it’s great to see that all of our hard work over the years is beginning to pay real dividends.

Hiring a machine is something we always recommend if you’re an independent sort or just love cooking. It’s not as costly as catering and making a hog roast yourself is very rewarding. You can always book a machine by emailing us, or phoning us.

Outside of increasing machine production and being kept busy in the office with a steady supply of phone call queries, we’ve also been doing some actual hog roasting, believe it or not!

Last week for example we were hog roasting for an open day at Colleise Ellan Vannin, the Isle of Man College. Not much was asked of us, the college wanted roast pig and roast chicken sandwiches and we were happy to oblige them. For us that’s as easy and enjoyable as catering gets, we love working from the snack sandwich menus because you can’t beat a hog roast or a chicken roast, it’s spit roasting at its most basic and we think at its best – No over complicating, no fancy canapés, just good honest food that tastes great and will give you enough energy for the rest of the day.

What’s been really spectacular this month has been the outright variation in everything we’ve been doing. It’s often the case that most months are dominated by certain events, be it a birthday party or a wedding, but this month it’s been anything but. We’ve had a real fill of everything and anything, from the most obscure and unusual events to business breakfasts and weddings, we’ve really had it all in March and it’s been great to really mix things up because it keeps you on your toes. Plus, it’s always nice to see your company growing and finding popularity in new markets and locations.
