We were proud to be the caterers for Ray and Rosa’s 40th wedding anniversary recently, as we have known the couple for many years. As well as being long-term customers of ours who have used our catering services and rented our machines multiple times, it just so happens that the couple are the parents of one of our chefs, Eddie! As Eddie would be celebrating the special occasion with his family, it was up to the rest of our team to provide the delicious Hog Roast Folkestone and more food items on the day.
Ray wanted to surprise Rosa with a Hog Roast Folkestone for their special day but she overheard him on the phone talking about it. He had asked us to provide our sumptuous hog roast rolls, their firm favourite, as well as some salads, potatoes and a vegetarian option for one of the guests. Being customers for a long time, Ray already knew which salad dishes and potatoes to ask us to supply – avocado and cherry tomato, a large coleslaw and our delicious roasted new potatoes smothered in rosemary and garlic. For the veggie option, he chose our lovely stuffed peppers.
On the day of the party, we arrived at the family home bright and early, as food service would be at lunchtime. We can cater any time of day, whether you need a Hog Roast Folkestone breakfast, tea or supper, but it takes a few hours to roast a hog, so on this day we were there by 7am. After setting up our equipment and preparing the hog for its roasting, we turned the machine on and kept an eye on it as it cooked.
Several hours later and the guests arrived to some wonderful smells wafting round the garden, all thanks to the juicy hog that had cooked beautifully. We freshly prepared the salads and stuffed peppers while the meat rested, and then it was time to slice the bread rolls, dish up the sauces and stuffing and get the carving knives ready to slice off the crispy crackling and pieces of moist and tender pork to fill the sandwiches with. It was nice to see Eddie relaxing for a change while we did this and wonderful to see the happy couple enjoying their party.
