We can’t believe we’ve managed to keep our lips sealed about this until now (trust us, it’s not been easy), but now that the big day is over and the news is out there, we’re very excited to share with you that Hog Roast Richmond recently catered a star-studded wedding for Alan Shearer’s daughter, Chloe, and her rugby star beau, Micky Young.
Matching the elegant vibes of their nuptials, the lovebirds chose the prestigious Forcett Hall Estate in North Yorkshire for their two-day celebration. And Hog Roast Richmond was honoured to be part of not one, but both days! Because if you’re going to celebrate in style, why stop after 24 hours?
Spreading the festivities over a weekend actually made perfect sense – it gave the couple more time to enjoy their wedding bubble, spend more time with their guests, and it also meant double the chance to enjoy some seriously good food. Naturally, that’s the bit we were most excited about.
For their pre-wedding celebrations, Chloe and Micky had asked us to prepare our biggest crowd-pleaser of them all: a classic hog roast. I mean, you’ve got to, don’t you? So, with the Georgian manor house as a backdrop, our team got stuck into preparing a properly tasty free-range pig, served with sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce and plenty of that all-important golden crackling. Mixed fries came along for the ride with plenty of sauces for dunking, dipping and drizzling, while guests after something meat-free tucked into grilled vegetable kebabs with optional halloumi and a cooling tzatziki dip.
That all went down a treat, but there was still another feast to look forward to…
For the post-wedding gathering, Chloe and Micky understandably wanted something a bit more relaxed, so we put together our Gourmet BBQ buffet for their 68 guests. And dare we say it, after such an epic feast before the wedding, the guests looked even more thrilled to see our stall for the second time.
Before long, they were diving into burgers, sausages, Thai chicken kebabs and pulled pork, with tomato and mozzarella salad, green leaf salad and fries filling out the table. There were plenty of sauces and buns too, plus veggie skewers and veggie burgers, so nobody was left out.
Two days, two very different menus and one very happy wedding party. Hog Roast Richmond was thrilled to play a part in Chloe and Micky’s celebrations – and even happier that both spreads landed so well.
Congratulations to the happy couple from everyone at Hog Roast Richmond! We hope married life is every bit as magical as your wedding.
