Hog Roast Doncaster People love warning you about planning an outdoor wedding in Britain. “What if it rains?” they say, usually with the sort of expression reserved for natural disasters and cancelled holidays. And yes, fair enough, our weather does enjoy keeping everyone on their toes. But when the sun decides to show up? There’s honestly nothing quite like it.

That’s exactly what happened earlier this month when Lisa and Claire tied the knot at Unique Occasions at Loversall Farm.

The whole day looked like it had been lifted straight from a wedding magazine with blue skies stretching on for miles, the countryside glowing in the sunshine and guests gathered in a lush field soaking up every second of it. From our (blissfully) shaded spot in the courtyard, Hog Roast Doncaster had the perfect view of the ceremony unfolding – complete with the beautiful sound of violin and cello music drifting through the warm afternoon air.

Hog Roast DoncasterHaving catered at Loversall Farm before, Hog Roast Doncaster already knew to expect big things from this wedding, but Lisa and Claire really knocked it out of the park. With little personal touches dotted around, fitting decorations and a relaxed atmosphere that put their guests at ease instantly, this is one wedding we’ll be sure to look back on for a long time.

The moment the ceremony wrapped up, guests made a confident beeline for our gazebo – and we were more than ready for them. We’d put together a spread that covered absolutely everyone: classic hog roast sandwiches loaded with stuffing, crackling and applesauce, juicy chicken thighs, smoky sausages, grilled veggie kebabs (with halloumi if you fancied it), and BBQ pulled jackfruit sliders for the plant-based crowd. Nobody was left standing at the sides looking lost – always the goal.

Speaking of sides, we had: tomato and mozzarella salad, mixed salad, creamy coleslaw, herby potatoes and a mix of sweet potato and classic fries with a proper sauce selection to finish. Plates were full. People went back for seconds. It was a job well done.

By the end of the evening, the courtyard was full of full bellies, happy faces and guests already reliving their favourite moments from the day.

Weddings like Lisa and Claire’s are exactly why we love what we do. Huge congratulations again to the newlyweds – and thank you for letting Hog Roast Doncaster be part of something so special.
