hog roast catering at the perfect wedding

Yesterday we catered the wedding of the new Mr. and Mrs. Richardson of Cannock. It was at a country manor in Cannock, Staffordshire and it was beautiful. The sun was shining, the food was great and the bride looked beautiful.

We arrived at around ten o’clock in the morning to set up our kitchen and lay all the tables. The house was beautiful; it was set in its own grounds and dated back to the 15th century.

The bride arrived in a horse drawn kart with the longest dress I’ve ever seen in my life, with four or five bridesmaids all dressed in peach.

We served them canapés and champagne on arrival and everyone mingled outside on the lawn while the pig and lamb were cooking, the bride and groom had asked

If we could cook the pig and lamb on the lawn so all the guests could see them cooking, and the guests loved it, they were stood around the machines mesmerised. The sun was shining and every one was laughing, it was a very relaxed happy wedding, in this job I cater allot of weddings and the more relaxed ones are always the best.

After an hour or so when the photographer had taken loads of pictures, everyone moved inside and sat to eat. We moved the pig and lamb inside next to the buffet tables and ten minutes later everyone was eating. The bride and groom had chosen our wedding menu 2, its a great menu, it is canapés, main course served as a buffet and then the wedding cake served as desert, it’s a great menu because usually at weddings, the cake costs so much money and usually it’s just for a photograph then it’s chopped up and given to family members and eventually ends up in the bin. But with Wedding menu 2 we use the cake as desert, so once the pictures were taken and the speeches started we took the cake away and plated it with coulis, fresh berries and freshly whipped cream, then we take the plated desert out to the table whilst the buffet tables and machines are pulled away. Wedding menu 2 really is a great value menu.

Then once we had served the desert, all the plates, knifes and forks were collected in and the tables were tidied and in the back we had set up a clearing area. So everything was moved out of the way so all the guests could dance and have a drink without us being in the way. When we have cleaned everything and loaded it all into the van it then took us about two hours to get back.

Some weddings just work, and this was one of them, I would have loved to have been a guest at this wedding. Because it was a big country house, there were loads of bedrooms and all the guests were staying over and doing things together the next day. All in all it was a great day.

Hello world!
