The month of June came crashing in on us like a cheerful hippo! Although being ready and prepared for the telephone and email onslaught that did, indeed arrive, we are always surprised at the sheer number of those wishing to have a hog roast and often at such exceptionally short notice. Not to worry, all was in hand and many of the customers seemed more than amiable enough. Time to knuckle down and get these jobs out there and booked!
The summertime brings with it the promise of sunshine in abundance. And even though us here in Britain (especially up in the North!) are used to awful weather, we never give up hoping that, indeed, the sun will show its lovely face. And we haven’t been disappointed! The sun has been out more than normal and thus the amount of hog roast catering requests have come in even thicker and even faster! Seeing Jayne’s fingers flying across the keyboard whilst simultaneously taking calls for all sorts of requests has been rather amusing. However, her hard work has kept the booking levels high – this being reflected in a case of wine being sent for her from Karen and Steve down in Hertfordshire. Naturally, Jayne drank this all in one afternoon and we all had to cover for her! Go on Jayne! (just a joke of course, though it has been noted that she’s often accompanied by a mysterious, bottle-shaped object hidden within a brown paper bag!)
The World Cup kicked off to a drastically below par beginning, clearly embodied within the poor exploits of the England team. Apart form looking like a cricket team (with those weird pseudo squash shirts), the England boys have lacked the energy and pace which has typified all the actions of all of our depots. Where we have strived to push out enquiries as fast as we can, its been great to read positive feedback from customers who have had some of the best food of their lives! Good on you guys! It’s always good to know that all the hard work we all put in as regards our web projects is paying off, literally!
In terms of our customers all over the country, it’s great to hear about how they aim to incorporate more hog roast dining in their future catering plans. As well as being great reflection on you guys through your hard work and stoic endeavours in the vast and roaring trade, this also shows that the nation as whole is continuing to increase its appreciation for great quality food among their friends, cohorts and family members.
And while the newly elected coalition lives on and is showing signs of having the potential to thrive, we too have welcomed a new member to our team. Actually new is not the word, as Richard Doyle has been an intermittent yet stalwart member of our team for many years. Now he has returned to us, his technical knowledge and experience within the wedding catering trade has allowed us to push forward with new initiatives. Also, his un-ceasing smile, piercing eyes and his delightful head of tousled hair allows us to all feel relaxed, as he is a tonic and a balm in these frantic yet profitable times. Welcome home Richard, you put the ‘G’ in ‘HOG.’
So as the World Cup drones on (literally, with those moronic ‘Vuvuzelas’ that have no musical merit or any true cultural relevance at all), we continue to work solid in our endeavours to keep as many jobs booked so that you guys can keep on doing what you do best. With increasing enquiries from new areas to us, we are also very happy to be part of what we deem to be a culinary revolution. So well done and here’s to a great summer of hog roasting fun!
In other news, our new offices have been a success and we are comfortable and effective. Likened to a well oiled machine (most of the time), we have never been as effective n the sphere of getting quotes out to our depots and keeping our customers happy. Testimonials continue to flood in and its great to hear that the population loves what we do as much as we do.
So as the summer speeds on lets all make of it as much as we can, for, as we all know, once summers over it’s a cold time ‘till its back!
