The Spitting Pig had a marvellous Diamond Jubilee weekend celebrating a spectacular achievement marking the 60th anniversary of the accession to the throne of Queen Elizabeth II. Before the event and before the month had even arrived we were getting bookings for the Diamond Jubilee, we had since the start of March. It seemed almost all our bookings were for a hog roast for their street party for the Diamond Jubilee. By the time it was Jubilee probably every street would be full of people and enjoying a hog roast, celebrating with family and friends, Great Britain flags hanging from roof to roof and across the streets, Great British hats and tables cloths, cups and cupcakes and so much more to celebrate such a joyous occasion.
A week before the Diamond Jubilee the phones were going crazy, people wanted one of our hog roasting machines or they wanted us to cater for them. We only had a few hog roasting machines left and the crazy mad dash just a week before was utter madness. Some customers rang us up because another hog roasting company they had gone to before us had cancelled their order which was a tad cruel. We would never do such a thing, when you take an order and accept the customer’s request and take their money you should have a hog roast machine with their name on it (not literally). But giving the money back and saying you have no hog roast machine must be crushing for the customer. If they haven’t paid in a sense they haven’t sealed the deal, but either way we was able to supply the few that was in crisis with a hog roasting machine to rescue their event.
One of the events I hand delivered the hog roasting machine myself. The customer was thrilled to see their hog roasting machine arrive two days before the event so they could prepare. I was invited back on the day to enjoy some of their food but as much as I wanted to I was having Jubilee tea with my family.
After the Diamond Jubilee event we thought there would be a cool down period yet there wasn’t we still had hundreds of enquires last week it is crazy. There is no time to rest, we are also taking in enquires for the Olympics which will be a fantastic event to cater for.
