Private Party Menu 5…………… An Extra Special Hog Roast Banquet

Friday, May 27th, 2011

Hi everybody hope you are all having a good Friday and looking forward to the weekend ahead!  I had a very successful catering event last night when I cooked up a formal hog roast feast at a business awards event and the client has already booked us again for another event!!

The next event they would like us to cater is not until December and they have asked us to cater their annual Christmas dinner and dance.  They have asked for private party menu five.  This is an extra special three course hog roast banquet and I cant wait to cook it up for them.  They will be enjoying a hog roast along with festive turkeys and many other mouth watering extras.

We will begin by serving canapés as the guest arrive.  They will then seated and enjoy a festive feast of hog roast, stuffing and apple sauce.  Spit roasted turkeys with cranberry sauce along with seasonal vegetables and roasted potatoes.  Then we will serve a selection of  sweet desserts.  This menu is extra special and gives you a luxury hog roast experience.  It is perfect for special occasions and to impress at formal events

Hog Roast Machine For the Stars

Hog Roast Machine For the Stars

Hello everybody its Friday the 20th of may 2011 and yet another weekend is about to begin :)   Hope you all have exciting plans for the weekend, lets all keep our fingers crossed for some sunshine.

The week has flown by so fast as we have been very busy both with catering requests and with our hog roast machine sales.

We also have lots of enquiries about people wishing to purchase their very own machine but this time of year the enquiries go sky high as more and more people want to have their very own machine for the Summer, and who can blame them it is certainly the best possible time to be a hog roaster.

Our hog roast machine purchase customers vary greatly.  A large percentage are other businesses owners for example restaurant or pub owners, hotel managers or butchers  who see the potential in hog roasting and how it can benefit their business.  Another percentage of our clients simply wish to have their own machine at their home for family parties and barbecues.  In the past we have also built machines for a number of celebrity chefs who now use their machines in their Michelin star restaurants.

This weekend we had another star customer who has purchased three of our hog roasting machines.  The premiership footballer wants a machine at each of his holiday homes so he can cook a hog roast for his friends and family.  So if our machines are good enough for the stars they must be good!!

Wedding food for thought

Thursday, May 19th, 2011

Good Morning Spitting Pig blog readers.  Hope you are all well and having a great Thursday so far.  Its a nice day today the sun has come back out and the rain has finally stopped hurrah!  Rumor has it there the UK is going to be treated to another heat wave this weekend.  I certainly hope so as I love hog roasting even more when I can enjoy the sunshine at the same time :)   So fingers crossed we get a scorcher this weekend people!!!

I have no catering events booked in for today, just a few machines hires o go out this evening.  So I am spending today working with customers.  I have three people to go and see today all who are confirmed bookings and all for wedding catering jobs.  The first one is next month, the second is a Christmas wedding in December and the third is not until Summer 2013 but there’s nothing wrong with being organized and planning ahead!!!

I like to meet up with customers to finalize the menus and see if there is anything else they need us to provide to make their big day even better.  Often as it is such a special occasion many people choose to adapt and change the wedding menus slightly this is always fine with me and I can adjust things to create the dream menu for the customer on all of my wedding catering jobs.

So I better set of now to be on time or my first meeting with customer number one.  It looks like I have a full day of wedding catering planning ahead of me! :)

Busy weekends for hog roast caterers

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

As a caterer our weekends are now never available as we are always working so hard arranging and preparing to attend and cater our customer’s events, as well as calling new potential customers. There is so much to get done like putting our customer’s minds at rest, getting customer’s deposits and sending out invoices as well as liaising with our local farmers and butchers to get the best quality meats and produce from them. Not only do we have to do this but we also have to think about where the event is taking place and if we need anything else like shelter, or if the area is easily accessible.

The distance in which we are traveling is also not to be forgotten as we need to be punctual so that our customers are served on time. Our machines have to be cleaned, and also any free time we have is left for us making our very own homemade sauces. There is so much to think about behind the scenes and then once this is sorted out we are left to concentrate on the finer things like making sure all our food is cooked thoroughly and to a high quality standard for our customers and their guests. We want your day/night to be a success and most of all for you to enjoy the experience, and everyone to have a smile on their face(that includes us too!!)

Lean, mean hog roasting machines

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011

Hello Spitting Pig blog readers.  Its Tuesday the 17th of May 2011, hope you are all having a good day so far despite the grey and miserable weather.  The office is very busy today.  This week we seem to have had lots and lots of enquiries for both catering and for machine sales.

I am pleased to report that the hog roast machine side of the business is continuing to do exceedingly well, and as we enter the Summer months this will continue as lots and lots of local business and budding hog roast chefs use the Summer months as the perfect opportunity to purchase their first machine and begin to hold hog roast events.  Its also this time of year that repeat customers return to us to purchase an extra hog roast machine.  We have people coming back to us for a second, third or even tenth machine because our machines are not like any other hog roast machines.  They are safe, reliable, easy to use and outstanding quality.

When on catering events we only use hog roast machines and machine accessories that have been designed and manufactured by ourselves because we no that by using competitors products we would not achieve the best possible hog roast for our catering clients.

Speaking of our machines which are used for our catering events I need to give the three that we used yesterday a through clean.  After the big wedding we catered yesterday they are in need of a good clean so I better go and get that done before lunch.

Weekday wedding

Monday, May 16th, 2011

Hello Spitting Pig blog readers.  Its Monday again boooo back to work for everybody and another five full working days until the next weekend.  Its not an average Monday for myself and other members of the spitting pig team today as we actually have a wedding catering job today.  Ninety per cent of our wedding catering jobs tend to be on a Saturday.  Very occasionally we will do a wedding catering job on a Friday or perhaps  a Sunday but week day weddings are quite rare.  The lucky couple exchanged their vows today because they wanted to marry exactly two years after they first met…..to the very day!  So the special date just happened to fall on a Monday.

We cooked up a tremendous wedding breakfast for them this afternoon and we are having a little break before we begin preparations for the evening buffet.  It has been a lovely day and although the weather was not quite as sunny or dry as we hoped for it has still been a beautiful wedding.  I have really enjoyed today’s job as I love wedding catering work and its a refreshing change not to be in the office on a Monday afternoon.  I hope other couples follow suit and begin to enquire about week day weddings as I could quite happily cook up wedding feasts seven days a week fifty two weeks a year! Congratulations once again to the happy couple :)

I shall now go and begin preparations for the evening buffet.
