The Easter weekend was very busy and we were so happy as the sun shone bright! Even though there was the slight dusting of snow and a nip in the air the sun compensated for the slight nip in the air. We were north at an Easter festival and catering for two hundred an outdoor event and the day went really well. Hog roast set off early and had been asked to provide a BBQ, sausage and burgers were on the menu. When we arrived we quickly set up our machines and the crowds were starting to gather cooking on our specially designed hot plate makes the food instant and quick to cook, the smell was wonderful we cooked jumbo burgers and sausage with onions and they were disappearing fast! Hog roast hire then made some vegetable kebabs, which always go down really well and are a new addition to our menu and proving to be a hit! The day flew by and one very satisfied customer came and asked if she could book us for her Son’s 16th birthday we get a lot of our work this way and never need to advertise much these days word of mouth and guests at our events get us the bulk of our work and our website has stacks of visitors each week. Hog roasting is proven to be really popular and getting more and more popular each year we are now celebrating our seventh year as hog roasters and we have almost tripled our orders and turnover since we first began, with first class staff and a professional approach to our customers we have proven to be a big hit and travel far and wide serving customers around the UK. We are again up north next weekend this time for a 40th birthday party and catering for three hundred and have the pig ordered! We just hope that we will be lucky again and see some lovely sunshine as it was so refreshing this weekend after all it is suppose to be spring but to be honest I think we have all forgotten what spring looks like!

The sun shone bright!
Wednesday, April 10th, 2013Cleared their plates!
Thursday, March 21st, 2013
Things are starting to pick up and we are getting back into the swing of things! We started the year with some new machinery and a brand new huge van to ferry all our equipment back and forth, clear heads and raring to go, business to be honest has been a little slow. But it started to creep up and now our books are full! We traveled over two hundred miles at the weekend and got caught in the snow but we arrived in good timing and in one piece! Hog roast hire had been asked to cater for two hundred guests for a wedding and the guests certainly were not dressed for snow it just came from no where but it did not spoil the day, the bride looked radiant and the guests were starving by time they fought there way through the sharp blizzard! We served honey-glazed pork moist and mouth watering with crispy crunch crackling, butter mash and vegetables to accompany the meal we prepared and served applesauce and gravy. The guests were soon tucking into the feast when we presented them with slices of plumb chicken accompanied by piping hot stuffing this was gone within minutes! For the little ones we served jacket potatoes with chicken and major filling served with chopped sweet salad the children loved this and cleared their plates too! We served a fantastic chocolate dessert topped with whipped cream and everyone agreed that a good day was had by all, we were thanked by all the guests and we love to be personally thanked it really makes our day. We have another wedding this weekend this one is less formal and wanting a serve your self -buffet we are slicing the meat serving it with salads and jacket potatoes too. Hog roasting is so popular at the moment and we have been inundated with questions on our website and all our slots for July and August are almost filled and we are asking customers to be quick booking a slot for the summer months and we are so looking forward to summer!
Horrendous British weather
Wednesday, March 20th, 2013
Another hectic weekend we have endured and nothing to do with the cooking all to do with the horrendous British weather! Hog roast were travelling north and faced a blizzard of snow head on we really were not expecting it and the event was out door. We had a bit of a job getting the marquee set up as the wind was putting up such a fight but after a struggle and a few pairs of hands we got there in the end! Soon the machines were in full swing and the meat was cooking the wind started to slow down and we were faced with a slight dusting of snow, which did look really strange when we were looking at Daffodils in full bloom! Soon the guests were tucking into chicken in huge buns with warm stuffing and dipped in gravy we also made duck with all the trimmings potatoes, green beans and parsnip and thick rich gravy one thing we did notice is that people were really hungry and the cold weather really built up all the appetites and when we came to clear away there was literally nothing left but that is what we like to see and know that we have done a good job! Sitting looking out of the window today and the snow is yet again back and we have another event next week again up North but this time indoor and we are pleased. March is proving to be busy and we are really looking forward to the year ahead we have a full order book and summer especially we are so busy. Hog roast hire have been catering now for three years and consider our self really new to the game and are always thriving to learn more and make our business as successful as possible and we are so grateful to our customers who are recommending us to others and helping us build up a great reputation in the catering world we would be so grateful if the snow went and we saw spring again I think it is fair to say we have had more than enough of snow…
Pleasantly Surprised!
Thursday, March 14th, 2013
We have had a busy last few weeks and we were all pleasantly surprised to say the least! The beginning of the year is known for being quiet but we are busier that usual so it is all good. This weekend we are travelling west of the country for a Christening and we absolutely love Christenings cooing over the baby is what we love to do! Hog roast hire are catering for one hundred and fifty and have been asked to cook, pig our pigs are by far the best supplied from our loyal farmer they are plump and naturally reared and so tasty we are also cooking chicken, duck and lamb again from our same loyal supplier we are slicing the meat and serving it on our huge platters and dressing the plates with salad we are filling the tables with pots of our delicious apple sauce, garlic dip, chilli dip and gravy’s made from the natural meat juices we are making one hundred and fifty baked potatoes and a selection of fillings too, such as tuna with sweet corn, beans, and cheese and onion our potatoes are the best and we really do mean that we can cook hundreds of potatoes at any one time on our machines perfect the art of baked potatoes they come out perfect every time and have become so popular. The Christening is at 12 and we have been asked to serve at 1.30 we like to arrive nice and early as the pig takes about six hours to cook and the last thing we want is hungry guests! When the guests arrive the food is nearly cooked but just enough time left for your guests to experience the art of hog roasting watching the meat cook is a treat and the carving is a favourite and always gather crowds the carving looks amazing and there is virtually no waste on our meats, experiencing hog roast cooking is a must for all I would say once you have tried it you will want to be back for more and our full order book is proof of that…
Dealing with the hog roast madness.
Friday, March 8th, 2013
We have been serving the UK for the past ten years our delicious food and year after year we are more busier than the last. The country went through a recession but we did not feel any effects of that and this year has been the busiest to date! We are hog roast specialists and serve the best quality food you are ever likely to eat. February has got off to a very good start and we have had four events so far with another one next week. Two birthdays and engagement and a leaving party so far and next week we are hosting a wedding which will be really busy one as we are catering for nearly one thousand guests. We are cooking a wedding lunch and two pigs have been pre ordered along with lamb and chicken all from our first class supplier. With the meat we are making vegetables and potato and delicious rich gravy. Mounds of food has been ordered and to be honest we have enough to feed a few thousand but to be honest once it is cooked and served people always come back for more so it is better to have too much than too less. The wedding is being held in a Stately home with fantastic surroundings and the room has huge windows so we will be cooking the food looking at fantastic scenery, which is a bonus! February has flown by and we cannot believe how quickly the month has gone by, we are so grateful for our wonderful customers who come back to us time and time again and recommend us to friends and family we are so excited to see what joys greet us next month and have decided that we must now take on some extra staff to deal with the rush!
Satisfied Customers
Friday, March 1st, 2013
Hog roasting tastes so good in this cold weather and our satisfied customers are proof of that! We have been exceptionally busy since Christmas, as we feared things might slow down but that has not been the case. We have been all over the country this past few months and February in particular has been exceptional. We must just mention the party we threw just the other day it was for an amazing lady who had been fostering children for the past twenty -five years her family were holding a party to mark the occasion and it truly was wonderful. All the children she had ever fostered had all turned up and some of these had children of their own and she had not seen most for years she spend most of the day shedding tears of joy and it was so moving the food went down a storm and most had never experienced the taste of hog roasting and were blown away! We made open sandwiches, which consisted of chicken and pork with stuffing and crackling the smell was amazing and the cold weather got everyone’s appetite flowing! We delivered a splendid cake too, made by our fantastic chef it was in the shape of a heart and had the name of every child and date the lady had ever fostered in white icing it looked too good to eat. The lady thanked us at the end of the day and she was so pleased with the food she has booked us for her daughters wedding next year so we are really pleased. Our order book is starting to fill up nicely and orders are coming in quickly, when we first started it was mainly the summer time we were busy but now it is all year round and we are loving it!
Taken us by surprise
Wednesday, February 27th, 2013
We are rushed off our feet this February and it has really taken us by surprise, as we really weren’t expecting it to be! This weekend has been particularly busy with us working all weekend we really have not had time to get our breath back. Saturday we headed north west for an Anniversary the couple were celebrating one whole year as husband and wife! And they wanted to mark the occasion in style. And we certainly did deliver we put on a spectacular spread the food was amazing sliced pork, crackling and spicy dice potatoes with winter salad it all went down a treat accompanied with our sauces and gravy’s. The couple were really impressed and booked us for their 50th, which we were happy to say yes and have marked it down and we will be back! Sunday was splendid too, we were north east and catering for one hundred guests it was for a gentleman who had just retired his family wanted to surprise him with the party and it was wonderful! The gentleman’s face was a picture when he saw every one there and he loved the pig and was really fascinated and was really interested in what we were doing and we stood chatting for hours with him. We sliced up the meat and plated it up with the meat we served a selection of specialist breads and left the guests to choose their own meat and bread to make their sandwiches which they all thoroughly enjoyed doing, we made lashings of sauces, chilli, garlic, and special apple sauce made with our secret recipe and always a hit with guests yes the weekend went really well and we are just recovering today and we don’t have time to relax for too long as we are out again midweek but it is all good…

The snow has finally gone!
Monday, February 18th, 2013
February is proven to be a very popular month we have been so busy the weather is getting better and it is nice to see the snow has finally gone! We at Hog roast have been down south at the beginning of the month doing a lovely Engagement party for a wonderful couple; we did an exquisite menu of Pork, crackling and fresh vegetables we catered for three hundred and fifty and the snow was in full force it was quite a challenge getting there as the roads were really bad and the traffic slow moving but a great day was had by all. Just the other day we catered for a large corporate event it had been booked since last year and our largest event to date catering for two thousand guests, we had to draft in extra staff and we cooked so much food Pig, chicken, turkey, lamb and we made lots of sandwiches a lot was riding on this day as clients were drumming for new business so we were there to impress and did so. We have a 21st birthday coming up next week and we are travelling up north, the parents want this to be an extra special day and guests are travelling from all around the UK, the guy is about to emigrate so his parents want this to be a double celebration and there has been no expense spared for the day we are putting on a lavish spread and we are hosting the event in a converted barn which is huge and gives us more than enough room to set up our machinery, at the end of February we are again up North this time for a christening which we are all looking forward to, February has proven to be very popular!
