Hog Roast Bodmin for an Owl Sanctuary

It is always very humbling to be around people who are completely dedicated to what they do and whose input makes a massive difference to the cause they are supporting. This was definitely the case when Hog Roast Bodmin met the staff and volunteers of a local owl sanctuary last week. We were asked to provide one of our classic outdoor slow-roasted buffets for a party to promote the good work the sanctuary does and to help raise money, so it can continue to protect and care for the local owl population for many years to come. That was certainly a very worthy reason to have a have a hog roast and we jumped at the chance to help them out!

So with Hog Roast Bodmin taking care of the catering to attract visitors to the sanctuary, the staff took care of the owls and got them ready to meet the guests as the chef watched over the slowly roasting meat and the catering assistants bustled about preparing the salads and sides. The event organiser decided our buffet set up was the perfect choice because it gave the guests the opportunity to enjoy the food and atmosphere whilst still being to focus on the reason they were there-the preservation and well-being of the owls both at the sanctuary and in the local habitat.

There was a great turn out for the event, with people of all ages eager to both tuck into our classic hog roast buffet and get the chance to interact with and learn more about these wise and majestic birds. The visitors were treated to a display from the trained owls and queued up for a chance to stroke them and have their photo taken with their favourites, all the while enjoying our mouth-watering pork and crispy crackling. The visitors were amazed when they were told that many all the owls they had met were injured birds who Lincolnshire - Functionhad been rescued and nursed back to health by the committed team at the sanctuary. This poignant fact did the trick and the donations were soon flooding in. Hog Roast Bodmin were equally moved by the work that they do and we were honoured to have been there to help the sanctuary staff raise money to ensure they can keep doing what they do for the local owl population!
