July has arrived with a greater degree of subtlety when contrasted against its marginally cooler cousin, June. Where June entered our lives in the fashion of an aggrieved Hippopotamus, July came along with the similar degree of intensity but tempered with the sheer amount of grace that our customers infused into their catered events. This is mainly due to the arrival of marriage event season.

As the beautiful and sun kissed month of July approaches, we are all set and ready for our caterers to go out and commit themselves to a whole multitude of wedding events. From all over the country, people who have normally booked many months in advance with us, are themselves preparing for their big day. Over the decades in the business, we have become synonymous with scintillating standards of catering at the weddings of our customers, from all over the country. This July, our caterers will find themselves all over the place, starting with the earliest wedding event in Norwich. For us, wedding parties have always been the perfect arena for our caterers to demonstrate the finer aspects of their culinary skills. Whereas garden parties and private functions also necessitate food perfection to be gained within the confines of the party, the desired atmosphere of a wedding party, as is suggested by the formality mirrored within the dressage of the people there present, is one of jovial formality. Thus, as July rolls around again, it is great to note the anticipation and excitement upon the faces of our chefs. Throughout the onset of spring, as the cold temperatures faded in favour of the brighter and more loving warmth which the summer is known for, our chefs have been busy concocting their respective menus. Great for all of our customers (not just the recipients of our bespoke wedding catering services), our chef’s dedication towards providing seasonal produce not only allows our menus to keep totally up to date and in alignment with the palates of our customer, but also underlines our steadfast and unswerving commitment towards quality and deliberative thought as regards the ingredients we put on our customers plates.
With many wedding catered events having been completed this year, it is with a smile that we wish all of those wishing to tie the knot this year the best of luck. As a family run business in every sense of the word, here at The Spitting Pig we recognise the value of the institution itself. In a society driven by the ‘here and now,’ it is great to see so many of the nations youngsters making a go of things in the traditional manner. In truth, this notion fits in directly with how we see things here; as we don’t do things in a rush. Of course, punctuality is one of life’s most important aspects, particularly in a business sense. However, good preparation and the employment of good people ensures that one never has to rush, if one is adequately prepared. Our hog roasts revolve around the notion of naturally obtainable maturity; that our meats are cooked slowly and to a defined perfection and not roasted through the use of overtly modern appliances which aim to do the job in a quick as possible time. We appreciate our time, and we enjoy spending it with you. Our events allow for freedom of choice and instil the notion of relaxation at its very essential core. That’s why this July, compared to last, is busier. Every year we get busier because every year our client base grows. Through actively seeking to improve our systems, we can now cater for more people than ever, in more locations and with a larger variety of food products. So if you’re having a wedding event with us this year, be prepared for the most stunning food we’ve yet to create.

SPOTLIGHT FEATURE: In this months Spotlight Feature, we take a look at the frantic and productive world of machine innovation and development. With key input from our engineers and technicians, this months Spotlight aims to show you just how much goes on in order to get the best products to our customers. Learning a long time ago that keeping our standards at the highest point is the best way to generate loyalty from our customers, this process is ongoing, and as each and every one of our engineers will vouch, we never let up in the strive for perfection.
The wheel section is one of the most intricate elements of our modern design set-up. This is due to the wheel and steering units being part of the most important aspects for our caterers as regards ease of transport and thus ease of use. Many of our catering clients love to have our catered services within their gardens. A universal norm and something to be both expected and cherished is the existence of gravel drives and gravel pathways. The main difficulty here is the fact that the machine has a considerable enough weight in order to make crossing said gravelous regions rather difficult. Whereas, in the past, the machines would get bogged down in a disappointingly un satisfactory manner, our new wheel and steering systems, which have been developed using some of the worlds finest engineering minds, have allowed for absolute ease and infinite freedom in the sphere of transportative ease. This is achieved by the use of four air filled pneumatic tyres. The cushion of air allows the wheels to effectively float on top of the gravel laden regions. In addition to conquering this difficult aspect (which no other machine achieves anywhere near as successfully) the wheels make exceptionally light work of lawns also. Great for customers who appreciate the nicety and finery of keeping their lawns in good order, the wheels leave an absolutely minimal imprint upon the soft and gentle grasses. Our steering system is great as this allows us to move with the ease and grace of an articulate and well-read swan. No more difficulty with motion, no more lines through the grass and gravel. Now we move with ease, speed, vigour and purpose. Made from high grade stainless steels and forged together with the mortar of determination and skill, these additions to our already wonderful machines show you how seriously we take your events.

Unfortunately, for the nation and the world as a whole, England has been removed from the World Cup. Sad, it is. However, many of us here at the Spitting Pig are avid believers in the value of good football. And lets face it, England were awful. If they were to progress any further in the manner they were playing it would’ve made a mockery of the competition itself. Best leave it to the Germans who actually care. Anyway, whilst many world cup parties suffered slightly due to our boys’ lack of performance, we catered on, making the most of the situation. Luckily, people were in high and jovial spirits and the parties went off without the slightest whiff of a hitch.

Here in head office, Jayne has been getting excited whilst processing the details for the numerous wedding catered events which we are to hold. Eager to become wedded herself, Jayne puts heart, body, mind and soul into helping couples, both young and old, to tie the knot in the most delightful fashion. Highly efficient at making sure our caterers get the details that they need, Jayne never stops smiling as she hears the happy voices of those that got married amidst the splendour and effortless grace of a Spitting Pig wedding catered event. Having celebrated her birthday recently, with both friends and family, Jayne has returned full of the vigour of youth. Soon to go on holiday, she is working tirelessly to ensure that all events will be as beautiful as her flowing hair.

This year, our new and shiny machines have acquitted themselves expertly, with our chefs reporting that the meat is looking more beautiful than ever come service time.
