The Spitting Pig Company equipment has been developed over 20 years by our catering specialists and are the best spit roast and hog roast machines available on the market.
Our business has taken us to thousands of events and locations in all kinds of weather and our machines are designed to meet every challenge. We have designed the machines to satisfy all your needs from transportation and setting up to serving then cleaning, with The Spitting Pig Company - Spit Roast and Hog Roast Machines you will exceed your client expectations.
The Spit Roast and Hog Roast machines are versatile in that they use the same oven with different accessory packs for each application. The oven differs from others in that our machine has been designed for easy handling and manoeuvring. The machine has pneumatic tyres to cope with soft or uneven ground and a brake for secure positioning, twin axles for tight turns and the front axle has a swivel handle for easy steering. By careful selection of materials our machine is also the lightest on the market, which contributes to the ease of transportation and is safer on the chef's back too!
The Spitting Pig machines are fuelled by fully controllable stainless steel burners that do not rust and produce a good even flame for excellent cooking. They have stainless steel or Teflon coated bright doors and stainless steel or black bodies to present a smart professional image. The high quality and durable finish ensures your machine will still enhance your catering presentation years down the line. We have incorporated a toughened heat resistant glass window into one of the doors to give your customers and chefs a visual check on cooking.
When the roasting is complete, the doors are removed, the pig is raised, the chef carves the roast from behind the machine and the client and guests can enjoy the full visual experience from the other side of the machine. The sight of the crackling crusted roasted pig is something to behold and an important aspect of any hog roast event, unlike other machines on the market where the chef carves from the same side of the machine as the guests, The Spitting Pig Company equipment is designed to satisfy the eyes as well as the belly!
We have included a draining port at the bottom of The Spitting Pig Company oven, this allows for hot water and detergent to be added and remain in place during cleaning of the burners, doors, drip-tray and sidewalls. The draining port can then be opened for rinsing and drying, it couldn't be easier. The drip-tray and draining port plug prevent any spillage of cooking liquor when in use.
The historical importance of manufacture in Britain cannot be overestimated. Over centuries, the trading potential of the British Isles has been recognised; manifesting itself in the existence of Britain as one of the largest trading powers in the history of mankind. A major component of our success lies in our ability to innovate. In engineering, science and mathematics, the ‘plucky’ British mind has helped to form some of the worlds most important inventions and adaptations.
Continuing this theme is an important part of the ethos that presides over the actions of The Spitting Pig Company. Having our firm foundations in absolute quality, from design to manufacture, has kept us at the forefront of cutting edge spit and hog roasting machine manufacture for over twenty years. With us, getting it right is just the beginning. We observe the situations in which our machines are to be used and scrutinise every scenario. Through this, every single one of the machines in our range benefits from intelligent design; from the large and dramatic structural influences, such as up to the second seam-sealed weld bonding to the subtleties gained through experience, such as our machines being narrow enough to fit through the standard garden gate.
Our journey into the taste explosion filled world of hog and spit roasting began decades ago. Understanding back then that the best way to cook meat is slowly and over flames is the basic key to unlock the culinary truth. Put simply, there is no better way to prepare meat. Even though the process dates back to time immemorial, this method of cooking has stood the test of time, even though many of us today prefer the quick fix methods available, such as microwaves etc. our spit and hog roasting machines combine this age old method of flame cooking and combine it with ultra –modern solutions which facilitate convenience on behalf of our customers and users. Allowing people to have the mobile convenience of our machines has always been one of our major priorities; as the idea of bringing consistently fantastic food to private functions in any location is an irresistible one to us. Meeting all our design requirements, sourced majoratatively in the field through our vital experience in the catering aspect of hog roasting, with a ‘no such word as can’t’ attitude has kept our team both focused and successful. Where difficulties have been found, such as manoeuvrability issues for example, we have responded by designing and manufacturing steering systems, alongside our all important pneumatic tyre system, that are both light and compact, whilst allowing for unprecedented freedom of movement. This attitude has been applied to every component of every machine. All of this allows our customers to achieve the most out of their functions and commercial enterprises involving the fabulous spit-roast. Taking it to a new level was part of our initial thirst within the industry and it still remains today. Quality through dedication, perfection through persistence and loyalty through trust.
Far from our humble beginnings where we developed and adapted our hog roasting machines based on an Australian design, we now have a range to suit all budgets and needs. Where we used to have a parallel business involved with re-equipping damaged trucks and making them road-worthy, we now have an ultra-modern design and manufacturing facility which allows us to make the machines of which we are renowned. Now the recognised market leader in the field of hog and spit roast machine manufacture, our roots still say a lot about us. As through our early endeavours with band saws and grinders, our attitude towards approaching manufacture related problems head on has helped to make us the market innovators and leaders of our field. It’s not an un-founded boast; just speak to our hundreds of satisfied customers, many of whom have become very close friends of ours.
A factor of modern-day manufacturing has been the introduction of regulations such as the CE mark. This certificate shows that our machines have passed stringent structural tests, along with tests to ascertain our machines effectiveness along with the necessary and stringent health and safety guidelines. Where many see government regulations of this sort as an infringement of liberties and of unnecessary government intrusion, we have found it both advantageous to ourselves and to our customers. Granted, having each machine checked and tested is time consuming. However, it has helped to rid the market, to some extent, of the many manufacturing outfits who make machines to a dreadfully inferior quality. Our customers ultimately end up happier as they have to suffer far less mishaps and failures at catered events. So having each and every machine CE marked is something which we believe is well worth the effort.
Many caterers out there, much to their commercial detriment, have also found that buying a machine from a manufacturer who is new to the industry has its pitfalls. Typically, their machines will have had little ‘out in the field’ experience and thus the designs are likely to be faulty. Crucially, however, these manufacturers seldom keep stock machines and thus make to order. Through this, the occasional spare part takes weeks to arrive with the caterer. Often, functions and hog roast catered events have been cancelled due to a tiny part being unavailable. Understanding this, we always keep and maintain a considerable amount of stock machines and all our spare parts. So even though it may be construed as a relatively small thing, the idea that a function may not go ahead due to a missing part highlights an example of little things forming the crucial factors. For us, concentrating on the large scenario right down to the tiniest detail is all important. It’s what our customers deserve and what we are known for.
Currently, our spit and hog roasting machines are available in a broad range. Starting with the professional spit and hog roasting machines, we believe that whilst it is imperative to service the needs of the intensive mobile and static caterer, it is also important to take care of our customers who wish to have a machine for home use. As in truth, what is finer than the idea of complimenting a sunny day with a family hog roast? Thus, the professional machine was born. Sturdy and durable, the professional machine can handle small pigs to the tune of up to 40 kilos, or lamb and chickens. The machine is available in hog roast; spit roast or combination form, allowing the customer a broad range of choices. A favourite of many, this machine underlines our commitment to all our customers, as design features and materials found on commercial machines have helped to make this machine one of the ‘must haves’ for the avid barbecue fan.
The Thor range is larger than the professional and is able to roast, in the form of spit roast, hog roast and combination, larger pigs up to the weight of 80 kilos. Made from mild steel and having painted red doors, the Thor machine will reward the user who takes good care of it. Great for restaurants and static scenarios, the Thor machine is known for its great value and usability.
Our Zeus range is highly popular. A commercial machine, the Zeus range, available as a spit roast, hog roast or as a ‘comb,’ utilises our ultra tough stainless steel in regions most susceptible to wear combined with the use of mild coated steel in less mechanically strenuous areas. Allowing the customer to save money through this, our Zeus units provide a stunning visual spectacle and can almost pack the commercial punch of its big brother, the Titan. Being compatible with all the extensive accessories, the Zeus is as happy cooking an 85 kilo pig as it is cooking a whopping 35 chickens in just 2 hours!
The Titan is the flagship of our spit, hog and ‘combi’ range of machines. Benefiting from a complete seam sealed stainless steel construction; the Titan is the ultimate choice for the commercial user. Indestructible is an understatement; the machine is built with complete bullet-proof durability in mind. With the style that only complete stainless steel brings, this machine will keep on working and keep on looking special. With over twenty years of design, love and development, the Titan symbolises the pinnacle of our endeavours. We love it, and every single person who’s bought one does too. All of our machines are available as a hire option also, a choice which is becoming increasingly popular as it allows everyone to get involved. Plus, as our machines are so easy to use, there are few reasons why you shouldn’t try it.
Seam sealed precision welding, CE markings, optimum stainless steels, expert engineering, cutting edge design, evolutionary changes through our catering experience, a one year comprehensive warranty, support and back-up that we are proud of, the list really go on and on.
For us it’s an obsession. The manufacture of our machines has culminated in a range which underlines our commitment to our customers as well as paying homage to the glorious hog roast itself.
And lastly, maintenance - our careful selection of materials and coatings ensure maintenance is negligible.
